In my paintings, I combine flat shapes and volumetric surfaces plus opacity and translucency to create contradicting yet believable space. The color is intense and unsettling. Each color demands attention, and the colors’ relationships to one another is evocative of perceptual sensations. The depiction of distorted body shapes and emotive colors create particular narrative scenes. I hope to share how I visually translate everyday life scenes with viewers.
